The Nigeria Rural Transport Infrastructure Management System (NiRTIMS) is a road intervention software system with a display module for visual assessment of rural transport infrastructure assets and their conditions using geographic information systems (GIS) visual tools. A Construction Site Monitoring System (CoSMoS) is a smartphone/tablet-based software developed to facilitate construction site supervision.
The FPMU is organizing a training workshop on NiRTIMS and CoSMoS for the additional six RAAMP states, including Kaduna. The objective of the training is to integrate Kaduna into NiRTIMS and CoSMoS.
Training Scope
- Weekly Site Monitoring: Site monitoring of demonstration roads using CoSMoS should be carried out weekly by the SPIUs.
- Site Observations: Site observations should be recorded by all members of the NiRTIMS Core Group.
- Report Review: I.E are required to review, edit, and finalize the uploaded site reports in the CoSMoS module of NiRTIMS.
- Breakout Session: A breakout session on CoSMoS Day 2 for M&E will be held to agree and finalize the reporting template.
- Media Attachments: Attaching media, photos, voice notes, and videos to your observations is required; however, videos should be short.
- Feedback and Recommendations: The SPIUs NiRTIMS Core Groups are encouraged to note their observations regarding the use of the CoSMoS App and forward their observations and recommendations to the FPMU for further transmission to the developer.
The FPMU has created a Google Sheet for observations and recommendations, which will be shared with the SPIUs.
